And of course they took it away!
An absent-minded bank clerk accidentally gave a customer nearly £1.761 million. Care worker Jenny Woollvin, 24, paid a £50 winning Premium Bond cheque into her local Abbey branch.
Her original receipt showed the clerk had put part of her account number into the space where the amount goes - and given her £1,761,000.
Jenny, 24, from Seaford, East Sussex, said: “I was staggered. It was nice to have a dream.”
But 24 hours later the cash disappeared. An Abbey spokesman said: “This was a genuine human error. When we cashed up, we made the correction.” (source)
