A South African actress and former fashion model, Charlize Theron, is now the Esquire magazine’s “sexiest woman alive”. She has an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award in her name.

She is well known for her portrayal of Aileen Wuornos in the film “Monster”, for which she won an Oscar in February 2004.

Past winners of the title include Jessica Biel, Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson.

When the May 1999 issue of Playboy published nude photos of Theron, taken during the early years of her modeling career, she ended up suing photographer Guido Argentini.


According to The Hollywood Reporter’s 2006 list of highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, she ranked 7th, behind Halle Berry, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Renée Zellweger, Reese Witherspoon, and Nicole Kidman.
