Seems like a height of brutality, a class XII student, Arpit Kanwaria (19), was beaten to death for sitting with his legs splayed in Udaipur, India.

Indra Samar, a teacher of Alok Secondary School was angry to his student because he was writing his papers in the classroom with his legs spread leisurely outside the bench. Teacher asked him to tuck his legs under table, but the student complained that the table was too low to fit his legs under the desk. (Source)
