Punishment are supposed to help students to correct their errors not to kill. People argue that kids should not be punished at all. It seems teachers in India don’t agree to such a thing otherwise Milan would not have been dead. This Class 11 student of Narayani Guru Vidyalaya died Thursday after he was apparently asked to circle the school grounds seven times for coming late.
He collapsed after two rounds and was pronounced dead when he was taken to a private clinic nearby. Read more at webindia site.
It can be a different debate weather a 16 year old boy can be so exhausted that he die just for making two rounds around the school. But punishing severely (which seems common in India) for such a minor mistake is no way a right method to teach students lesson.
